Is David Cook from American Idol REALLY single, or is he dating Lacey Schwimmer?

I have been trying to figure this one out. I know he said he was single last Wednesday, but was he telling the truth? I’m sure he was because if people found out he was lying they’d be mad. So, if you answer this, you ROCK!

This looks like a stupid rumor. Every article (and, yes, I’m talking every single article) I’ve read about this quotes the exact same "source" verbatim. It’s interesting that OK!, InTouch and whoever else all have the same source and this person says the exact same thing to each of them. And the quotes are just ridiculous. I mean, imagine someone saying those things about you and someone you’ve just met. Stupid. Not to mention that AI contestants seem to barely have time to breath much less date. Plus, every article says that the two of them "exchanged numbers" and had a so-called date at Doughboys. Whoop-dee-doo. Even if that much were true, somebody should tell the gossip columnists that that’s not what most people call dating.
It was funny, tonight when Andrew Lloyd Webber said, "Imagine I’m the most gorgeous 17-year-old you’ve ever seen." David was like, "Well…I’m 25". Sooo…yeah…if he laughed at that I don’t think he’d be dating a 19 year old.
