why is it that in America the short date is written Month/Day/Year and Australia we use Day/Month/Year?
IE today’s date
America 11/28/08
Australia 28/11/08
At the time of the American Revolution, many Patriots (rebelling colonists) wanted to do the opposite of whatever Britain was doing at the time. They deliberately changed things like:
Driving on the left side of the road
Eating with the left hand
Using the English pound system for money
and a whole host of cultural things. I can only think that the date layout was one of these.
